Jacksonville State University Flute Studio
The JSU Flute Studio has grown to be a diverse group of strong performers and has produced many successful performers and music educators. Over the course of Dr. Benson's tenure at Jacksonville State, the flute studio has grown to twenty-eight undergraduate and graduate students, and it has been honored to perform at very prestigious events, such as the National Flute Convention and The Florida Flute Association's annual convention, the Mid South Flute Festival, and the Alabama Music Educator's Association (AMEA) annual convention. Each year we host the JSU Flute Festival which is an opportunity for all of the 100+ flutists (middle school through professional flutists) in attendance to participate in flute orchestra reading sessions and a finale gala concert. We are excited for our future as a studio and thank those who have helped us grow to be what we are today.
